The purpose of this working paper is to analyse the impact of electoral campaign financing regulations on women’s political participation in Lebanon. In a country where political structures have historically favoured male dominance, women face discrimination in accessing finance, resources, and assets, which hinders their ability to secure campaign funding and remains a major barrier for those seeking to enter politics. By addressing the gender barriers women face during electoral campaigns, we aim to explore how more equitable campaign financing, and a more equitable legal framework could foster greater gender balance in political representation.
