Given the high global prevalence of men harassing women in public transit, this study contributes to the body of evidence around the extent to which men harass women in public transit in order to inform practical solutions. This case study was initiated by members of the Tripoli-based feminist organization Mosawat, which felt that taxi harassment is a significant barrier to women’s access to education and jobs. This report analyses the set of interviews and explores the stories of each - the barriers they faced to political participation and the opportunities they leveraged.
The report aims to offer policy makers and practitioners a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist when women seek political office in Lebanon.
