Lebanon: After Loss and Displacement, Nour Helps Her Community Recover in Baalbek
Nour Haidar, a 23-year-old humanitarian volunteer from Baalbek, shares her experience of loss and displacement and how these experiences strengthened her determination to support others affected by the crisis.
After returning home with her family, Nour continues her humanitarian work, drawing on her own experience to support people affected by conflict and displacement with dignity. Her story reflects the strength and agency of women as they navigate loss, displacement, return and recovery, while playing an active role in supporting their families and communities.
This video was produced as part of UN Women’s response to the ongoing conflict in Lebanon and its efforts to document and amplify the stories of women and girls affected by the crisis, including those returning to their communities and working to rebuild their lives.
