CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Women, Peace and Security – Through Your Eyes

💬 What is this campaign about?

In October 2025, we mark the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), which recognizes the crucial role women play in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, protection, and recovery.

To commemorate this milestone, the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW) and UN Women Lebanon invite you to participate in a nationwide mobile photo campaign entitled:

Women, Peace and Security – Through Your Eyes

Through your lens, share what this agenda means to you, your community, and the world you want to build. Whether it is a moment of solidarity, a symbol of resilience, a scene of dialogue, or a quiet act of strength – WE WANT TO SEE YOUR VISION.

📍 Who can participate?

We welcome submissions from individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds across all eight Lebanese governorates:
Beirut | Mount Lebanon | North Lebanon | Akkar | Bekaa | Baalbek-Hermel | South Lebanon | Nabatieh.

📷 How to participate

  1. Snap a meaningful photo with your mobile phone that captures what Women, Peace and Security means to you.

  2. Add a short caption (max 50 words): What does the photo mean to you?

  3. Fill the submission form, available HERE

  4. Deadline for submission: 30 September 2025

🔐 Consent and use of photos

By submitting a photo, you confirm that:

  • You are the owner of the photo and have the right to share it.

  • Any person appearing in the photo has given their permission to be photographed and to have the image shared.

  • You grant NCLW and UN Women the right to use the photo, caption, and your provided information (name, age, region, etc.) for non-commercial, awareness-raising, and promotional purposes related to this campaign, in line with data protection and ethical standards.

🏆 What happens next?

Selected submissions will:

  • Be featured in a slideshow at the 25th anniversary event for UNSCR 1325 in Lebanon.

  • Be promoted on NCLW, UN Women, and partners’ platforms.

  • Receive a Certificate of Participation and a special mention.

💡 What is Women, Peace and Security?

The Women, Peace and Security agenda is about:

  • Ensuring women’s participation in peace and decision-making processes

  • Safeguarding women’s rights and ensuring protection from all forms of violence

  • Amplifying women’s voices, especially in times of crisis and recovery

📸 Tips for taking a good photo with your mobile phone

  • Hold your phone horizontally (landscape). Make sure the photo is at least 3 MB in size.

  • Clean the lens before taking the photo to ensure clarity.

  • Avoid using flash – natural daylight is best. Outdoor photos usually look better.

  • Stand 1 to 3 meters away from your subject, holding the phone at eye level, directly facing them.

  • For portrait pictures: Use a simple background, take a half-body shot (waist up), and ask the person to look straight at the camera.

  • For action pictures: Avoid standing directly in front. Shoot from slightly above, below, or to the side to show depth and movement.

  • Do not crop, edit, or apply filters – our team will handle any editing later.
